Rita Charlene Powell, 64, of Parkersburg, passed away November 22, 2024, at the Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born in Parkersburg September 5, 1960, a daughter of the late William R. and Sylvia Staats Miller.

Mrs. Powell was a co-owner and floral designer of Parkersburg Floral for 12 years. Previously, she worked for Torco Ace Exterminating Company. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and taking trips to the mountains. She was an avid concert goer who enjoyed BINGO and casino visits. She was an animal lover and will be sorely missed by her beloved “Buddy”.

Surviving is her husband of 39 years, Robert “Rob” W. Powell, two sisters: Rhonda Stout (David) and Kathy Dawkins, both of Parkersburg and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother William Jerome Miller.

A Celebration of Rita’s Life will be held Sunday 4PM at the Leavitt Gathering Center, 620 Avery St. Parkersburg, with Chris Wilson officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will be Sunday 2-4 at the Center.

In following Rita’s wishes, she will be cremated and her remains laid to rest alongside her family.
