Danny Author Vance, 68, of Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 7, 2024, at his residence. He was born Oct. 6, 1956, a son to the late Donald and Nellie Mellinger (Walls). Danny worked as a welder for Sheet Metal Local #33 and served his country in the United States Air Force. Danny was a man that worked with his hands, always tinkering, woodworking, and mowing the property. He was also a musician, playing the drums often.

Surviving Danny is his wife and partner of 48 years, Marie Vance; children Sharon Reger (James), Jonathan Vance (Sarah), Daniel Vance, and Melissa Vance; siblings Roberta Jenkins, Donnie Vance, and Lambert Vance; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Patsy Vance

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Carl Vance.

A visitation and viewing for Danny will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1-3 p.m., at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, concluding with military honors. Danny’s remains will be cremated, as per the family’s wishes.
