Two facing fentanyl charges after Parkersburg traffic stop
PARKERSBURG — Two men were arrested following a traffic stop Nov. 19 by the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force.
A PNTF press release said on Nov. 19 at approximately 7:30 p.m., agents conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Fusion on Emerson Avenue, near Interstate 77, Parkersburg.
The occupants were found to be Thomas Legg, 26, the driver, and Thomas M. Baker, 41, the passenger, both Parkersburg residents. During the traffic stop, agents located a bag of suspected fentanyl, weighing 159 grams, with a street value of approximately $17,000.
Both subjects were ultimately arrested on charges of transporting fentanyl across state lines and possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver. Both subjects remain incarcerated, in lieu of $150,000 bond.
The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force is comprised of officers from the West Virginia State Police, Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Parkersburg Police Department, and the Vienna Police Department.
