MARIETTA – Three people have been arrested in connection with a weekend shooting that injured a woman in Marietta.

Kylar Wilson, 20, of Marietta, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of first-degree felony attempted murder, Marietta Police Chief Katie Warden said this morning.

Two other suspects – Brendon Pierce, 18, and Ashton Dugan, 20, both of Parkersburg – were arrested Wednesday by Parkersburg Police on felony charges of attempted aggravated assault and tampering with evidence, as well as a second-degree misdemeanor count of obstructing official business. They are in custody in West Virginia and awaiting extradition to Ohio.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday. Marietta Police said at least four people were firing weapons at each other in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts at 220 Greene St. before fleeing the scene. A woman was shot in the face and hospitalized.

Warden said this morning that 38 shell casings were recovered at the scene. She declined to discuss a motive in the incident, saying it is still under investigation.

The victim has not been identified, but police have said she’s been released from the hospital.

Police have interviewed the fourth suspect but have not arrested that individual.

“The whole incident is still under investigation,” Warden said. “We had probable cause to arrest three of the four people.”
