PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating a shooting that occurred last Friday evening.

Deputies responded to the scene of a shooting in the area of Center Street and Meadowview Drive off West Virginia 2 north of Parkersburg.

One person was shot in the leg with what was believed to be a handgun and the wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, according to a post on the sheriff’s department’s Facebook page.

“It is still under investigation,” Wood County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Mike Deem said Monday. “The detectives are still looking at it and following up on any leads we get.”

The suspects were described in a Facebook post as a white male, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 with brown hair and a thin build, wearing a white T-shirt, and a 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 heavyset white male (possibly Hispanic) of unknown age wearing a red/orange shirt.
