WAVERLY – The Waverly Activity Center is giving away 36,000 pounds of apples delivered to the former elementary school at 422 Virginia St.

Missy Stanley, community outreach coordinator, said the donation was made by the Food Donation Connection as part of the Farmlink Project.

Anyone is welcome to come pick up apples and take them in their own bags or boxes. Someone will be at the center throughout the day today and until the fruit is gone Thursday, Stanley said.

Multiple nonprofit organizations have stopped by today to collect apples by the bag, box or pallet, Stanley said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
