VIENNA — Grand Central Church is offering a free, two-day “Adjusting to Aging” Senior Seminar Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28, at the church, 5805 Grand Central Ave., Vienna.

Featured guest speaker is Santa John Johnson, also known as “Simply Saint Nick,” a member of the Santa Claus Hall of Fame. As a trained and professional Santa Claus, Johnson will bring his whimsical experience to the seminar, discussing how to stay active, engaged and joyful year-round.

“We believe that aging is a beautiful journey that deserves celebration and support,” said Charlie Morris, event coordinator. “Our ‘Adjusting to Aging’ seminar is designed to provide seniors with tools, insights and a sense of community as they navigate this important stage of life. We’re particularly excited to have Santa John Johnson join us, bringing a touch of magic and reminding us all of the importance of maintaining a youthful spirit.”

Local groups that care for and assist the aging population are encouraged to attend. The seminar will cover topics including answering grandchildren’s difficult questions, staying fit at any age with chair yoga, sustaining faith during times of doubt, developing strategies for personal devotions, applying the book of Proverbs to daily living and creating beautiful greeting cards.

The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday with an opening reception, followed by a variety of breakout sessions and a keynote address by Santa John Johnson titled “My Life as a Real-Life Christian Santa.” Saturday’s program begins at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast and continues with more breakout sessions, concluding at noon with a final assembly on “Having Christmas Every Day.”
