PARKERSBURG — And then there were five.

Parkersburg News and Sentinel readers submitted nearly 1,800 barbershops, golf courses, coffee houses, Mexican restaurants, tree services and more for the 2024 Readers’ Choice competition. Those submissions were whittled down by readers last month to five nominees in each of 206 categories.

From Nov. 8-14, readers will be asked to vote online at www.newsandsentinel.com/readerschoice to determine which is the overall winner and two finalists.

Votes will be accepted once per day in each category and tabulated by an independent third party.

“Being a nominee already shows these businesses and services are among the best of the best in our community,” News and Sentinel Publisher Jim Spanner said. “Now we’ll determine which is the Readers’ Choice as the favorite in the area.”

The categories are divided between 10 overall groups: Body and Soul, Entertainment and Travel, Food and Dining, Health, Homes and Gardens, Kids and Education, Pets, Services, Shopping and Vehicles.

Take a look at all the nominees in Friday’s edition, and look for the winners and finalists to be announced in print and online on Dec. 13.

Starting at $2.99/week.
