Carolyn (Deem) Jacobson and Marilyn (Deem) Wine

On Saturday Nov 27, 1954, Ray Deem of Eaton’s, W.Va., had to cancel his plans to go squirrel hunting because his wife Ruth went into early labor for their fifth child. The baby wasn’t due until Jan. 8, but to everyone’s surprise two beautiful little twin girls blessed their family that day 70 years ago.

Carolyn Sue weighed 5 pounds and Marilyn Lou weighed four pounds 14 ounces.

When the twins were 6-weeks old, the family moved to Dutch Ridge Road in Parkersburg. The twins celebrated their 70th birthday together at Jimmie Colombo’s Italian Restaurant on Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 27, 2024.

Of their once large family they are blessed with two remaining sisters, Darlene Willis of Walker and Debbie Fouse of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Carolyn is married to Terry Jacobson of Parkersburg and Marilyn is married to John Wine of Walker.
