Tom Corbett says he plans to sue the NCAA in federal court over sanctions imposed against Penn State in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal. The Republican governor has scheduled a news conference for Wed. in State College to announce the filing in US Dist. Court in Harrisburg. The sanctions were agreed to by the university in July. They included a $60. million fine that would be used nationally to finance child abuse prevention grants. State and federal lawmakers have raised objections to the money being spent outside PA. They dont seem to get that a child's innocence is so so much more important than a freaking game! Posted 137 days ago. Antisthenes56I don't know about anyone else but I think the Penn State folks, to include their Gov. are pathetic. They just don't get it! They are forever crying about how unfair the sanctions are and suing the NCAA to have them lifted. Penn State officials, Alum, students and fans, allowed a culture of cover up to take root and thrive at Penn State. They allowed an atmosphere of cover up anything that might hurt or make look bad, the university and sports dept. And yet again...here we have yet another high profile personality trying to sue to get the sanctions lifted. To my knowledge, not once has anyone from Penn State or it's Alumni, or it's fan base admitted culpability. They haven't learned a thing !!! Posted 137 days ago. Post a Comment |
