Republican Obstructionism

There is less than a month until our nation's fiscal cliff is reached. While some would have us believe that reaching the fiscal cliff will be the end of the world, in reality, it will barely put a band-aid on our severed limb of debt and spending problems. The problems were not a result of a single presidency. The debt and current spending deficits are the result of decades of spending more money than is taken in by our federal government. It has been exacerbated by two recent wars and the worst economic recession in 70 years.

I am talking about the financial industry being allowed into such things as the speculative markets when in the past they weren't.

Like oil futures.

In 2008 during the big spike in oil prices it was said that as much as 60 dollars in the cost of a barrel of oil was due to speculation.

Wall St knew how much their actions was hurting the nation did they care?

NO!

Hard to get a message out with a media that is in bed with the movement. And frankly the Republican party is not about free markets either,

I know you are into the rich vs poor thing and are busy occupying your trailer court, but lets be specific here and stop casting those stones you love to chuck

If this isn't the way forward then why hasn't the right made a good case for it?

I know why! No one listens to a55holes!

You bring up good points. But on the national stage the message isn't conveyed one bit in any manner that will convince people they are right.

Are you referring to the housing crisis>? Where GOVT market distortions required lending to those that could not afford it??? that is NOT a free market

Pretty generic, what is it they did Myth???

Wall Street became more free to do what they want and look what they did!

LOL! Are you really that dense.

The free market always works

mythravere

Free market solutions wont work by themselves.

Incase it escapes you. Corporations have to be held at bay or they take and do what they want.

Socialism does not work, has never worked. Evil maybe, broke absolutely.

one car wreck with a fatality could easily bankrupt you too, but you seem to have insurance for that because you are forced to.

Posted 201 days ago.

mythravere

You know lots of European countries are socialist in their nature.

Are they evil?

Posted 201 days ago.

Tiredofit

No you don't have to have car insurance, you just cannot get pulled over or have a wreck. right?? Just like you are skipping out on health insurance and if you get hurt or really sick, the taxpayers will have to pick it up.

Tiredofit

Doesn't matter, if the GOVT is the payer, its market distortion and absolute socialism. Free market solutions are the only thing that will work, but they will not be allowed

I have car insurance. I have to have that.

Any bills a incur are mine to pay unless it bankrupts me which medical bills are increasingly apt to doing to people.
