If you required people to be popular to maintain their seat and or pay, you end up right where we are, pandering and free stuff. Not a great idea. We already have that system at the ballot box.

Does any of them include any sort of punishment for lying to the American Public, cover-ups or using the IRS for going after the opposition?

Take the money out of it. Do a top to bottom rebuild of the electoral process. Ban or heavily restrict lobbying.

Tie congressional and presidential pay to their approval rating. Approval rating drops to a certain point? Automatically their out. Or at least an inquiry into their performance is put into play.

I got lots of ideas.

Is there really an Independent candidate not tied to any particular group or idology. Given the amount of money needed to launch such a candiancy, we would get either an uba-liberal like Bloomberg, who is currently assaulting the Constitution or a stringent Conservative like Steve Forbes.

I for one thing believe we are Taxed Enough Already. I'm also smart enough to know that even though revenues have increased 50% since 2001, spending has doubled over that same time period and that's our problem. Nobody needs to pay more, the idiots in Washington need to spend less.

I think we all can mostly agree that asides from a few ideological differences both parties are not all that different. Government money is spent differently but its still wasted some way or another.

I'd love to see an independent president who was tied to any one group.

But that aint going to happen when most people pick a side and then dig in.

I had hopes for the Tea Party but it got ruined by Karl Rove. Maybe just maybe it can become at some point the party for the people who dislike the other two.

There is not pattern of corruption coming out.

No its bubbling up as it does with every single new administration regardless of party affiliation.

It would also seem that bush appointee does not like tea party politics.

Ok, I admit, I could be wrong. It may not be corruption. It could hysterical as easily be incompetence.

Indeed Aaron, but the lefties will defend this administration despite many of the policies are the same or worse as GWB. The end justifys the means with that crowd.

I think the bigger point is the pattern of corruption that is starting to come out. Is this 1973 all over again?

Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, a Republican who served in Obama's Democratic administration, told CBS' "Face the Nation" it would have been "very difficult, if not impossible" to rescue the U.S. embassy officials and said he would have not have approved such an operation.

"To send some small number of special forces or other troops in without knowing what the environment is, without knowing what the threat is, without having any intelligence in terms of what is actually going on the ground, I think would have been very dangerous," Gates said.

"It's sort of a cartoonish impression of military capabilities and military forces" to think the United States could have mounted a rescue, Gates said.

A point to ponder is that Benghazi occurred much more recently than the IRS timeline.

Bill Clinton also used the IRS to target his enemies, Paula Jones most notably.

Richard Nixon used the IRS as a tool against his enemies as is detailed in his Articles of Impeachment.
