| Latest Post: Started By: Rank: Category Is there a concerted effort on the part of the right to revise, distort, or simply eliminate those portions of American history that don't conform to their current anti-statist agenda?Judging from the recent Texas school book controversy and the use of a fourth-grade textbook in Virginia schools that incorrectly states that "thousands of slaves fought for the Confederacy" during the Civil War, there does seem to be some overt efforts on the part of right-wing idealogues (i.e. Glenn Beck) to alter the teaching of history, science, and other subjects that don't agree with the current "Tea Party" line ... How is this any different from what regimes like the German Nazis and Soviet Union idealogues once did to use distorted history to convince citizens to support their conformist dogma?
