How "representative" is motor-mouthed rocker Ted Nugent of the Republican base?

Judging from some of the comments on reads here, the toxic stuff vomited forth by "Motor City Madman" Nugent is typical of what those on the far right fringe of Republican politics believe ... While some don't go quite as far as Nugent, they ALL have delusions that they are "Braveheart" (when they make this comparison, they most likely identify with the film's star Mel Gibson that the real hero of Scotland, William Wallace) ... Is Romney "man" enough to call out Nugent as President Obama called out CNN pundit Hillary Rosen?
