Is there a concerted, well-financed effort on the part of the NeoConfederate "leaders" of several states to "secede" from the Federal Government without actually leaving the Union?

If one pays attention to what is going on in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Arizona one might notice a certain pattern whereby over-reaching, authoritarian "leaders" like Kasich, Walker, Snyder, Scott, and (to a lesser degree) Mitch Daniels are enacting measures to trash public-worker unions, privatize education (and other state services and agencies), undermine the ability of the EPA to regulate corporate pollution, and take away the voting rights of seniors, minorities, and poor people (i.e. the Benton Harbor, Michigan SNAFU and Kasich's efforts to destroy public-school autonomy in Ohio) ... Sam Adams, James Madison, Thomas Paine, Ben Franklin, and even Jefferson would NOT be amused!
