PARKERSBURG - A Camden Clark Medical Center emergency room doctor was arrested Friday evening for allegedly writing illegal prescriptions, an official said.
Dr. Robert T. Hogan II of Coolville was arrested Friday at the conclusion of a multi-month doctor prescription pill investigation, said Trooper C.S. Jackson of the West Virginia State Police Wood County Detachment.
Hogan was arrested on the charge of delivery of a controlled substance, Jackson said.
The investigation provided sufficient evidence to arrest Hogan on suspicions of writing illegal oxycodone prescriptions to multiple subjects without a medical examination, Jackson said.
The investigating officers suspect that Hogan received half of the prescribed pills as payment for his actions, Jackson said.
This case is still under investigation, Jackson said.
Hogan was arraigned at Wood County Magistrate Court Friday night and failed to meet his bail of $250,000. He is being housed at the North Central Regional Jail.
Agencies participating in this investigation are the West Virginia State Police, the Wood County Sheriff's Office and the FBI Southern District, Jackson said.
