Lowell Everett Blankenship, 78, of Vienna, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Arbors of Marietta.
He was born May 4, 1935, in Conway, Va., a son to Roy and Edith Blankenship.
He was preceded in death by father, Roy Blankenship; sister, Helen Moles; and brother, James Blankenship. He is survived by wife, Nancy (Vienna, W.Va.); mother, Edith Blankenship (Edgewater, Fla.); daughter, Debbie Triplett and husband Steve (Knoxville, Tenn.); sons, Darrell Blankenship (Parkersburg), and Randy Blankenship and wife Kathy (Mogadore, Ohio); grandchildren, Jason Boggs, Jeremy Boggs, Kevin Blankenship, Matt Blankenship, David Blankenship and Jackie Blankenship; lifelong friend, Werner Zieman; numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and loving caretakers.
Lowell was an avid musician who loved music and played in the band Nite Life for many years. He was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church in Akron for many years before retiring in Parkersburg. He will be sadly missed by all. He fought a very brave and courageous battle with cancer and is now at peace with our heavenly father.
Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 21, 3 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
