PARKERSBURG - Belpre's Greg Adams for Ohio and Parkersburg Catholic's Jeff Campbell for West Virginia have been named head coaches for the annual Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis (BACF) Football Classic, set for Friday night, June 13 with Parkersburg High School's Stadium Field the tentative site.
Adams will begin his fifth season at the Golden Eagle grid helm this fall. A former star player at Belpre under Ralph Holder, Adams has posted 4-6 and 5-5 records at his alma mater the last two seasons.
The Crusaders' Campbell has been the head cosch at his high-school alma mater for the past three seasons with an overall record of 18-13. His first year, Catholic made the W.Va. playoffs, but barely missed out on them the last two years.
The 21st edition of the BACF Football Classic will pit senior players from area West Virginia high schools against their counterparts from Ohio.
W.Va. leads the BACF series by a 13-7 margin, having won seven of the last nine games, including the 2013 meeting at Don Drumm Stadium in Marietta by a 33-13 score.
