Rose "Rosie" Williams, 81, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Jan. 20, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
She was born August 14, 1932, daughter of the late Forest and Murl Smith. Rosie was the center of her family and extended family. She adored her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and her home was the centerpiece of every Christmas Holiday. She enjoyed music of all kinds, especially country music. Some of her favorite things were butterflies, flowers, especially yellow roses, shopping and coloring. Despite challenging medical conditions later in life, Rosie touched everyone she came in contact with, with her smile, laugh and sweet nature. Rosie taught Sunday School and Bible School at the East Vienna United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" T. Williams. Two sons, Douglas (Melody Williams), Williamstown and Gregory (Donna Williams), Parkersburg. Two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Lewis Morris) and Brandon Williams and one great-granddaughter, Leah Morris, two sisters, Jean Short (Lairy Short) of Parkersburg and Pearl Wright of Boaz.
In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her brother Larry Smith. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 25, 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Rick Kapple officiating. Visitation prior to the service is at noon. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Parkersburg, W.Va. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home.
