Janet Marie (Leadmon) Shepherd, 58, of Cutler, passed away Dec. 2, 2013, at her home, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born March 16, 1955, in Parkersburg, daughter of the late Delbert M. and Martha O. (Wilson) Leadmon.
Janet was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed travel, camping, country music and her Shih Tzu dogs. She had a sense of humor, a big smile and couldn't talk without moving her hands. She was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School with the class of 1973 and Mountain State Business College.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William "Bill" Shepherd; four sons, Jason Leadmon and wife, Amy, of Cutler, William "Billy" Shepherd Jr. and Robert "Bobby" Shepherd and wife, Joyce, all of Parkersburg, and Curtis Shepherd of Cutler; one daughter, Sarah Shepherd of Cutler; one brother, Delbert L. Leadmon of Walker, W.Va.; one sister, Joyce McCune and husband, Carl, of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Nickea, Michael and Brady Leadmon of Parkersburg and Kailey, McKenzie and Robert Shepherd Jr. of Parkersburg; three nieces; and one nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Michael and Kevin Shepherd.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
