VIENNA - Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the winner of America's Got Talent, from 2-4 p.m. today will be at Adams Hallmark at the Grand Central Mall for a book and CD signing.
Murphy is on a promotional tour for his latest CD, "Christmas Made for Two," and his new book, "Landau: From Washing Cars to Hollywood Star."
Murphy, the 2012 winner of America's Got Talent, will meet with fans and sign his CD and book, which is about his life before and after America's Got Talent.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Children's Home Society of West Virginia.
"He's just a super nice guy," Charlotte Adams, an owner of the store, said.
The Christmas CD includes old favorites and new songs. One song was recorded with the leader of the Temptations.
Murphy, 39, is from Logan, W.Va., where his father was a coal miner. His parents divorced when he was 8 and with his mother moved to Detroit where he dropped out of the 11th grade to care for the family.
Homeless for a period, he returned to Logan in the late 1990s where he married a childhood friend, Jennifer Carter, in 2005. He washed cars for a living prior to the TV performances.
