Jerry H. Godbey, 56, of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 7, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born July 28, 1957, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Donald and Elaine Keller Godbey.
Jerry graduated in 1975 from Parkersburg South High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and retired from Pipefitters Union Local 565 in Parkersburg. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Elizabeth, W.Va., and also belonged to BTU Local 69.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kim Ryan Godbey; a stepdaughter, Amber Lockhart (Daniel) of Lubeck; a stepson, Ryan Archer (Jessica) of Belleville; his mother-in-law, Sherry Ryan of Belpre; a sister, Donna Boston (Larry) of Parkersburg; two brothers, Jack Godbey (Marcia) of Mineral Wells and Joe Godbey of Parkersburg; one grandchild, Aden Swisher of Lubeck; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard L. Ryan.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Mike Seebaugh officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, and until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Services on Tuesday will begin with military honors by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.
