VIENNA - Officials will gather Saturday for the rededication of the Neale-Cook Cemetery in Vienna.
The cemetery, located beside the Sam's Club, contains the remains of veterans from eight wars, dating back to the French and Indian War.
"For a cemetery of that size and being in the center of town you can document all those veterans, it is incredible," Vienna Mayor Randy Rapp said. "We have done our homework with the historical people."
Officials have planned a 45-minute ceremony Saturday morning that will include Vienna city officials members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8127, the Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8127 and Carlin's Battery.
The VFW Post 8127 donated a new flag for the cemetery. Carlin's Battery will provide a cannon salute.
Rapp said because of the volume of festivities on Veterans Day, officials wanted to hold the rededication Saturday.
"Because of the parades, we wanted to do it Saturday so it wouldn't interfere with things."
