Raymond J. Champa, 81, of Vienna, died Oct. 29, 2013, at the Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph and Marie Virant Champa.
He retired in 1995 from Preformed Line Products Company, a Cleveland based company, as a project engineer after 42 years of service. He later moved from Cleveland to the Parkersburg area to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace R. Champa; daughter, Cindy Lowden and her husband Dr. Eric Lowden of Washington; three grandchildren, Jessica Wilson of Parkersburg, Christopher R. Lowden and Emily G. Lowden, both of Washington, W.Va.; and two cousins, Donald Serak and his son Ron of Massachussetts and Catherine Modic and her daughter Callie of Cleveland.
Services will be Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
