Edna V. Pyles, 87, of Washington, W.Va., passed away Oct. 13, 2013, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, with God and her family by her side.
She was born July 23, 1926 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Laurence Stanley and Ines Woodyard Deem.
Edna had worked for O'Ames in her earlier years. She enjoyed crafts, painting and needlework. She was known for her penmanship, never missing a birthday or special occasion with an appropriate card or letter. She liked playing Dominos and Bingo.
Surviving Edna are her children, Eileen Vincent and "Bo' of Smithville, Ohio, Larry Pyles and Jan of Washington, W.Va., Maxine Rogers and Mickey of Romeoville, Ill., Gary Pyles and Lynn of Parkersburg, and Terry Pyles and Kim of Canton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Davis and Edward of Parkersburg; brother, Ray Deem and Susie of Medina, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sylvia "Bea" Melrose; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Pyles; two sisters; and one grandson.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Merrell Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 today, and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
