BELPRE - Water service will be disrupted Monday afternoon for the widening project on Farson Street, city officials said Thursday.
The lines will be out of service starting after 5 p.m. for the relocation of sections of the main water line on Farson to be moved. Water pressure will be restored as soon as possible, officials said.
The affected areas may include Farson Street from Washington Boulevard north to Valleyview Drive, Hanvey Street, Norris Avenue, Bellview Street, Park View Street, Valleyview Drive, and Rockland Avenue from Mary Street west.
The Ohio Department of Transportation is widening the road from U.S. 50 to Washington Boulevard. The contractor is Shelly and Sands Construction.
The project will improve access to business and Marietta Memorial Hospital's new Health Bridge Medical Park.
Because of the disruption of service, the city has issued a boil water advisory effective 5 p.m. Monday.
