ATHENS, Ohio - Police arrested two people at an Athens County residence after recovering 13 pounds of marijuana, police said.
Curtis Hinds, 46, of 13141 River Road, Athens, and Kari Labello, 40, of Gallipolis were arrested by the Athens County Sheriff's Office on drug charges Sunday.
According to police reports, an Athens County deputy responded to a parking complaint on River Road in Athens. While at the residence, the deputy noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the unattached garage, officials said.
More deputies were called to the scene and police obtained a search warrant for the property.
Detectives from the Athens County Sheriff's Narcotics Enforcement Team searched the property and found indoor marijuana grow operations, using the hydroponic method, police said.
Police said they recovered scales and $6,320 in cash from the home.
Hinds was charged with cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies.
Labello was charged with two counts of complicity of cultivation of marijuana and one for trafficking in marijuana, also third-degree felonies.
