Michael "Stephen" Eddy, 65, of St. Marys, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 23, 2013, after a sudden illness.
Steve was born June 9, 1948, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of Michael Junior Eddy and the late Betty Higgins Eddy.
He was a 1966 graduate of St. Marys High School and attended Glenville State College. He was a member of First Baptist Church, St. Marys, where he sang in the choir and served multiple terms on the Deacon Board. Steve was retired from the former Colin Anderson Center. Steve struggled for many years with major health issues and throughout his life he demonstrated a great sense of humor. He was forever grateful for the kidneys that gave him an opportunity for a better life. (The first one in 1989 from the transplant waiting list, and the second one in 2007 from his son Jeff.)
In addition to his father, Steve is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lois Livingston Eddy, St. Marys; one son, Jeff Eddy, St. Marys; one sister, Karen Eddy, Belmont; and one brother, Roger (Mary) Eddy, Marrietta, Ohio.
The most important thing in Steve's life was his relationship to his heavenly Father. In his presence, he now resides. He is no longer blind, no longer in pain and forever more he will be singing with the angels.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, St. Marys, with Pastor John Strimer and Pastor Jerry Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Friendly Cemetery, Friendly, W.Va. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, and noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Contributions can be made in Steve's name to First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Pleasants County Humane Society.
