Carla Faith Stanwick slipped from this life into the next while sitting in her favorite chair within the comfort of her own home on July 26, 2013.
She was born Dec. 27, 1938, in New Matamoras, to the late Bernice E. Taylor, and born again 14 years later in a revival meeting at Center Valley Church where she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Terry Montgomery. She is survived by her husband, Terry; two sons, Steven (Linda) Stanwick of Marietta and Christopher (Jill) Stanwick of Washington, W.Va.; one daughter, Stacey (Paul) Stefanski of St. Louis, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Monica, Mitchell, Colton and Elaina.
She loved to attend church, cook, decorate, tend her flowers, read, bicycle, garage sale, play games, be with grandkids and beachcomb, where she was one of the world's best shark tooth finders.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Williamstown.
Donations may be made to FBCW Senior Ministry, 431 Highland Ave., P.O. Box 38, Williamstown, WV 26187.
The family would like to thank Hospice and its nurses, Angie, Beth, Lish, Missi and Sharon Moore, and the personal caregivers who were all living angels.
Like Tennyson's poems, she has crossed the bar and put out to sea, sailed over the horizon out of sight but not gone.
