HARRISVILLE - The Hughes River Water Board has issued a boil water order for all residents in the Harrisville, Pullman and Washburn areas because of equipment failure at the water plant at 1 Water Plant Road, Harrisville.
There has been no indication the water is unsafe; however, as a precautionary measure, the water boil order has been issued for all residents in the above areas.
Customers may experience cloudy or dirty water that will not clear up and air in the lines.
The town of Cairo has also issued a boil advisory for all residents.
Ellenboro and Pennsboro have also issued a boil advisory because of equipment failure at Hughes River Water Plant for all customers on the water system.
Per orders of all boil advisories, all water should be left at a rolling boil for at least one minute before being used for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth.
Both boil advisories are until further notice.
