James B. "Jim" Simms, 61, of Parkersburg, passed away July 3, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Sept. 27, 1951, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Karl B. and Virginia Roberts Simms.
Jim was a 1969 graduate of Parkersburg High School, had obtained his business management and accounting degree, and was self-employed as an accountant. He loved NASCAR, fishing, animals and enjoyed being outdoors working on projects. He was Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 17 years, Janis Lynn Harris Simms; the joy of his life, his cat, Samantha; his sister-in-law, Pamela Harris VanWay and her husband, Mark VanWay, of Parkersburg; his brother, Thomas Simms of Parkersburg; special friends, Dixie and Joe Roush and family, Kevin and Christina Ingraham and staff of Franklin Fire and Matt Alfred and staff of Pit Lane Auto; and other numerous friends and acquaintances.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Simms.
A special thanks is given to Dr. Avery, Dr. Hamirani, Dr. Parmer, Dr. Rivers, Dr. John Lee and DaVita Dialysis of Grand Central.
A remembrance service will be at the convenience of the family.
