COLUMBUS, Ohio - Belpre senior Dakota Hoffman ended his solid career as a Golden Eagle by finishing fourth in Division III in the long jump at the Ohio State Track and Field Meet held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Hoffman's final meet in a Belpre uniform resulted in a long jump distance of 21 feet, 6 and three-quarter inches.
Freshman distance runner Cray Sistrunk posted a 1600 meter time of 4:35.35, but the Golden Eagle had to settle for 13th place overall in Division III.
The only girls for Belpre to make the state field was the 4 by 200 meter relay team.
However, the quartet of senior Allison Gherke, junior Taryn Carr, sophomore Sierra Barker and senior Sarah Walker were unable to qualify as one of the top nine squads out of the 16 which went in order to advance to the 4 by 200 finals.
