Helen I. Davis, 95, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Genesis Parkersburg Care Center.
She was born Feb. 12, 1918, in Washington County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary Frances Waterman Wittekind. She was a graduate of Marietta High School and a graduate of the Camden Clark School Of Nursing, class of 1940, where she received her registered nurse's degree. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and was a member of the Lynn Street Church Of Christ.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Deanna Pifer (Lewis) of Vienna and Dixie Twyman of Williamstown; two sons, Edwin E. Davis II (Leasa) and Charles H. Davis (Lynn), all of Parkersburg; one son-in-law, Bob Franklin of Parkersburg; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Davis; one daughter, Della Franklin; one granddaughter, Serena Davis; and a sister, Rosabell Wynn Johnson.
Funeral services for Helen will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna, with Evangelist Teddy Tackett officiating; burial will follow at Gravel Bank Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
