Judith A. Deem, 71, of Marietta passed away May 15, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1941, in Marietta to Walter and Lucille (Davis) Neader. Judy was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary High School and after high school she graduated from St. Joseph's Nursing School. Judy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was very active as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and a volunteer on many service projects. She was also very active with the American Red Cross.
On Oct. 13, 1962, she married Donald "Don" Deem who passed away Feb. 6, 2012.
Surviving are her children Brian Deem (Nancy) of Charlotte, N.C., and Melissa Deem (Amitava Bhattacharjee) of Princeton, N.J. And grandchildren Seth, Brad and Carly Deem, Shikha, Maya and Arun Bhattacharjee and a sister Alice Beardmore (Paul) of Marietta.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Ann Deem, brothers Thomas and Jerry Neader and her stepmother Ruth Steadman Neader.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Michael Campbell as celebrant. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
