PARKERSBURG - A man was arrested on a felony drug charge early Sunday morning after Parkersburg police found two people sleeping in a car, officials said.
Officers responded at 3:30 a.m. Sunday to the parking lot at Go Mart at 3001 Seventh St. on a call about two people who had been passed out for about 40 minutes, Sgt. Greg Collins, police spokesman, said.
Officers W.J. Cox and W.E. Wells approached the 1999 Ford Explorer, observing the engine running while a man and woman were asleep inside. The driver had his foot on the brake with the vehicle in gear, Collins said.

The two people were interviewed and a subsequent search of the vehicle discovered about a quarter pound of suspected marijuana, digital scales and plastic baggies commonly used in packaging marijuana for distribution or sale, Collins said.
William Joseph Kerns, 28, 1131 Lynn St., Parkersburg, was taken into custody on a felony charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, Collins said. He was taken to police headquarters, processed and placed in the Wood County Holding Center.
He was later arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court where he was remanded to the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
Rachel Nicole Wilson, 22, 506 34th St., Apt. 2, Vienna, was issued a citation for possession of a controlled substance and released, Collins said. She has five days to appear in magistrate court on the charge.
