SPENCER - Gilmer County's Adam Beall scattered eight hits in a complete-game effort and the Titans pushed three runs across in the bottom of the fifth en route to knocking off St. Marys, 6-4, here Friday at Roane County to claim the Little Kanawha Conference baseball championship.
The Titans, who improved to 24-3, got a 3 for 3 effort that included a solo home run from Seth Skinner. Luke Beall went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and joined fellow Titan teammate Stephen Coleman in delivering a pair of runs-batted-in. Austin Cunningham had Gilmer County's other RBI.
St. Marys, which led 1-0 after the top of the first and 4-3 after the top of the fifth, was led at the dish by Michael Stout (2 for 3), Matt Houser (2 for 4) and Jarrod Lough, who drove in two runs. Aaron Tice and Garrett Furr both doubled while Furr and Robbie Harper each had an RBI for the Blue Devils.
