VIENNA - Applications for Vienna police officer will be accepted until midnight Monday.
The Vienna Police Civil Service Commission will administer a test for entry-level police officer beginning with a written test at 9 a.m. May 18 and a physical fitness screening following at 1 p.m. for those passing the written test.
The commission will interview those who pass both tests at a later date. Successful candidates will be ranked on an eligibility list that stays in effect for three years.
Applications are available around the clock at the police department, 604 29th St., or at www.viennapolice.com. If an applicant is unable to obtain the required supporting documents by the application deadline, those documents can be submitted any time prior to the written test.
An applicant must be between 18 and 40 years of age, a U.S. citizen and a high school graduate or the equivalent. Residence in Vienna is not mandatory, but a valid West Virginia driver's license is required.
