CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Zach Casto scored 17 points and David Godwin and Garrett McCarty had 16 each as defending champion Charleston Catholic beat Buffalo 61-48 in the boys Class A quarterfinals Wednesday at the Charleston Civic Center.
Third-seeded Charleston Catholic (23-3) defeated Buffalo (21-5) for the fourth time this season.
Charleston Catholic took control with a 13-2 run after halftime to lead 39-28 entering the fourth quarter. Buffalo got no closer than eight points the rest of the game.
Nick George added 10 points for Charleston Catholic. George and Casto each had 10 rebounds.

Levi Jordan led sixth-seeded Buffalo with 14 points. Isaiah Robinson and Aaron Lewis scored 10 apiece while Dylan Rich had 14 rebounds.
Tug Valley 87, Notre Dame 62
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Mikey Newsome scored 25 points and top-seeded Tug Valley beat Notre Dame 87-62 in the Class A quarterfinals Wednesday night.
Austin Brewer added 19 points and 10 assists for Tug Valley (23-3), the defending Class AA champion which moved down to Class A this season. Hayden Sturgell had 12 points and Thomas Baisden scored 10.
Tug Valley made 58 percent of its field goals.
The Panthers finished the first half with eight unanswered points to surge ahead 38-27. Tug Valley used a 21-0 run in the third quarter to extend the lead to 64-30.
Eighth-seeded Notre Dame (14-9), making its first tournament appearance since 2010, committed 24 turnovers.
Justin Goff led the Fighting Irish with 14 points, while Cal Cistaro had 13 points and nine rebounds.
Tucker County 68,
Greater Beckley 61
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Tyler Snyder scored 22 points, Ian Nichols had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Tucker County beat Greater Beckley Christian 68-61 in the Class A quarterfinals on Wednesday night.
Fourth-seeded Tucker County (21-3) advanced to the semifinals for the fifth time in six years and will meet top-seeded Tug Valley on Friday.
Austin Zirk added 16 points for Tucker County.
Javonne Staunton-Bailey led Greater Beckley Christian with 17 points. Elisha Kidd added 14 points and Keith Mullins had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Tucker County went ahead to stay late in the first quarter and led by as many as 18 points in the second.
Fifth-seeded Greater Beckley Christian (19-6) got as close as 39-34 midway through the third quarter before Tucker County again pulled away.
Class AAA
Woodrow Wilson 63, Hurricane 54
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Andrew Johnson scored 20 points to lead Woodrow Wilson to a 63-54 win over Hurricane in the Class AAA quarterfinals Wednesday.
Second-seeded Woodrow Wilson (22-4) returns to the semifinals for the first time since 2009. The Flying Eagles have won a record 16 state titles but none since 2008.
Making the first state tournament appearance in school history, seventh-seeded Hurricane (20-6) scored just nine points in the third quarter and trailed 48-41 entering the fourth.
Although Hurricane scored nine unanswered points to trim the deficit to 53-52, the Redskins didn't make a field goal over the final 6 minutes of the game.
Donte Nabors added 15 points and Chase Hancock scored 13 for Woodrow Wilson.
Trey Dawson led Hurricane with 16 points and Rasaan Harris added 14.
Martinsburg 60, Huntington 50
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Jordan Robinson scored eight of his 10 points in the final 4 minutes to lift Martinsburg to a 60-50 win over Huntington in the Class AAA quarterfinals Wednesday night.
Robinson's 3-pointer with 3:42 left gave top-seeded Martinsburg (24-2) the lead for good, 51-48. He hit another long jumper a minute later and closed the scoring with a layup with 25 seconds left.
Donte' Grantham led Martinsburg with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jalen Lewis added 11 points.
Arick Nicks led eighth-seeded Huntington (18-7) with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Chancelor Wooding added 15 points.
Huntington was in the tournament for the first time since 2008.
The Highlanders haven't won a title since taking three straight from 2005-07.
