Cleo Irene Kerns, 92, of Daingerfield, Texas, formerly of Pennsboro, passed away March 4, 2013, at the East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Texas.
She was born Aug. 1, 1920, at Gillispie, near Cairo, a daughter of the late Floyd and Alice (Mullinax) Richards. Cleo was a homemaker, and an avid quilter and seamstress.
Surviving are her children, Wilma Loraine Martin of Daingerfield, Texas, and Bonnie Kerns of Avinger, Texas; sister, Johnotheen Morton of Weirton, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Mike and Brian Kerns and Tina and Debbie Martin; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Wyatt Kerns; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Kerns; son, Emmet Kerns; and brother, Dwight Richards.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the McCullough Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Pastor Bud Corbin officiating. Interment will follow at the Cairo IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
