Bertha M. Perdue, 94, of Sandyville, formerly of Decota, W.Va., a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Christian, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2013, while surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born Oct. 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Tony and Leona Simms Sanford.
Her joys in life were being a mother, grandmother, going to church and being a devoted Christian.
She is survived by sons, Robert (Rita) Perdue Jr. and William (Tammie) Perdue; daughters, Wanda (Patrick) Jarrell, Clara Duffield, Mary Perdue, Patty (Danny) Pauley and Thelma (Mark) Lancaster; brothers, Dallas (Bonnie) Sanford and Rush (Sandy) Merritt; sister, Linda Sanford; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Al Mendez officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
