ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Elijah Pittman scored 20 points to lead four players in double figures and hot-shooting Marshall defeated Central Florida 82-70 Wednesday night.
DeAndre Kane tallied 19 points and seven assists, D.D. Scarver scored 16 points and Dennis Tinnon added 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Thundering Herd, who shot a season-high 54.2 percent (32 of 59).
Marshall (12-15, 5-7 Conference USA) led 23-19 before Tinnon sandwiched two jumpers around a Pittman 3-pointer to put the Thundering Herd up for good. Marshall took a 48-34 lead into intermission behind a 60 percent (21 of 35) first-half shooting effort and never led by less than eight from there.
Pittman, Scarver, Kane and Tinnon all managed at least 10 points in the first half.
Isaiah Sykes had 23 points and 11 rebounds for UCF (17-9, 7-5), which shot 43 percent (28 of 65), but struggled from 3-point range (3 of 16).

ATHENS, Ohio -Ohio made its first seven shots from the field en route to an early 17-3 lead and never looked back as the Bobcats topped Eastern Michigan 73-50 Wednesday night for their fifth consecutive win. The Bobcats moved to 20-6 (11-1 MAC) with the win, while Eastern Michigan fell to 12-14 (5-7).
Reggie Keely led the Bobcats with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while D.J. Cooper (Chicago, Ill.) turned in a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists. Ivo Baltic finished with a solid performance of eight points and nine rebounds.
Cooper moved into a tie for 13th place on the NCAA all-time assists lists with 894 career helpers. He also climbed into the top-25 in NCAA steals history with five Wednesday night.
Ohio posted its 20th win of the 2012-13 season season with the win Wednesday night. The Bobcats now have 14 20-win seasons in program history, including three of the last four seasons.
