Ronnie Morgan, age 67, passed away Feb. 15, 2013, at Eldercare of Ripley, W.Va., where he had spent the last months of his life. He had lived at Grantsville prior to moving to Eldercare.
He was born April 29, 1945, near Arnoldsburg, W.Va. He is the son of the late Arthur and Tressie Whytsell Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Larry; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Seymour Scarpellini. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Morgan; and a very close friend, who was like a brother, Paul Starcher. He is survived by his step-mother, Geneva Morgan of Fitzgerald, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Joyce Morgan of Arnoldsburg, W.Va., and John and Wanda Morgan of Sterling, Ohio. He is also survived by two step-sisters, Barbara and her husband Jack Goodman of Williamsburg, W.Va., and Ruth Wilson of Fitzgerald, Ga. He is also survived by some very special nieces and nephews.
Ronnie graduated from Calhoun County High School, and then served in the United States Army for two years. He worked at B&W in Barberton, Ohio, and later retired from there. After retirement, Ronnie had moved back and lived on the family farm. He loved 4 wheel riding, and loved talking and visiting with friends. He never saw a stranger. He loved his stay at Eldercare and made many friends while there.
His service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial will be in the Morgan Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the time of service.
