Beef Association course continues

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Beef Association's short course program continues at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Judge Donald F. Black Annex on Market Street.

Tara Totalovich, an FFA teacher from Ravenswood, will discuss meat goats. Randy Rollins with the United States Department of Agriculture Livestock Services is the state coyote trapper and will discuss ways of controlling coyotes.

At 7 p.m. Feb. 21, Bruce Lloyd of the Lewis County Extension Service will talk about weed and brush control. Steve Casto will discuss beef marketing.

At 7 p.m. Feb. 28, Steve Cavendar from Farm Credit will present a farm safety program while Don Michael from the West Virginia Farm Bureau will give a legislative update.

The final session on March 7 will include Gary Perkins talking about using the right bull and understanding expected progeny differences.
