WILLIAMSTOWN A large tree at the Henderson Hall mansion south of Williamstown was toppled by a storm that passed through the area Wednesday morning.
The tree trapped a live power line on a wrought iron fence around the mansion, requiring responders to close River Road where the 19th century mansion and tourist attraction is located, according to Paul Jordan of the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department.
Crews waited for the power company to arrive and disconnect the line.

Nothing inside the structure was damaged, Jordan said. Some damage to the front of the home was caused by branches, he said.
Dave McKain, curator of the museum, was at the house today arranging for the tree to be removed.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Other major incidents from the storm have not been reported.
