PADEN CITY - Magnolia's Mallory Chapman tallied a new Magnolia girls' single-game scoring record of 44 points as the Blue Eagles rolled to a 79-33 romp over Paden City Thursday night.
Magnolia, now 7-7, opened up with a 17-4 lead after just one quarter, and led 38-19 at the half and was commandingly ahead by 61-23 following three periods of play.
Chapman netted her point total on 16 field goals, including three treys, and 9-of-12 at the foul line, while teammate Grace Berisford collected 12 points.
For PC, now 6-6, Myah Charkawi scored 14 points and Logan Cosper added 10.

RAVENSWOOD - Visiting Williamstown had no answer for the three-headed monster of Taylor Youell, Hailey Miller and Hannah Murray here Thursday evening as Ravenswood rolled the Yellowjackets, 73-51.
Youell led all point-producers with 26 points. Hailey Miller had 18 points, seven boards, five steals and as many assists while Murray posted a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. She also had five blocked shots.
Williamstown, which trailed 20-7 after one and never recovered, got 15 points from Kenzie Smith and 11 tallies from Carley Ellison.
Wood County Christian 57,
Valley (Wetzel) 35
WILLIAMSTOWN - Wood County Christian jumped out to a 31-13 lead and cruised to a 57-35 victory on Thursday versus visiting Valley (Wetzel).
WCC (8-6) was paced in the scoring department by Heather Lord (13), Hannah Lord (11) and Rachel Ruble, who had 10 markers and eight caroms.
Megan Bucher's seven points led the visitors.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Doddridge County 65,
South Harrison 63
WEST UNION - Dillon Muhly-Alexander scored 14 of his 16 counters in the fourth quarter here Thursday as host Doddridge County held off South Harrison, 65-63.
Daniel Plaugher also tossed in 16 points and grabbed 12 boards for the now 2-7 Dogs, who received a dozen markers from Ashton Hinzman.
South Harrison, which fell to 6-6, got a game-high 19 points from Zak Wentz and 16 more from Luke Gaines.
St. Marys 76, Wirt County 64
ST. MARYS - Wirt County's Kalob Bell poured in 36 points, a St. Marys Boys Invitational record, but the Tigers couldn't hold on to a one-point halftime lead in the semifinals here Thursday as the host Blue Devils rallied for a 76-64 triumph.
Andrew Cosper went off for 25 points, Austin Bayless had 22 and Jordan Whitehair posted a 10-point, dozen rebound double-double for the Blue Devils, who improved to 9-1 and plays at Valley (Wetzel) today in the WVHIT. Jessy Moore also tossed in 11 points for the Blue Devils.
Austin McVey scored a baker's dozen for the 2-10 Tigers, who face Bishop Donahue in Saturday's 1:30 p.m. consolation game while St. Marys squares off against Frontier at 5:30 p.m. in the finals.
Frontier 66, Bishop Donahue 63
ST. MARYS - Bishop Donahue missed 10 of 17 free throws and fell 66-63 to Frontier here Thursday in the semifinals of the St. Marys Boys Invitatoinal.
The Cougars (3-10) got a huge 30-point night from Jordan Jefferson along with 18 counters by Damon Matheny, who contribued eight boards, three assists and as many steals.
Bryce Jones led the Dons (7-4) with 22 points, Lavonte Hampton had 17 and Josh Miller tallied 14.
Braxton County 54,
Calhoun County 47
MT. ZION - Despite holding a 29-19 halftime advantage here Thursday, host Calhoun County couldn't hold on as Braxton County picked up its third victory, 54-47, behind a game-high 16 points from Derek Barnette.
Barnette, who was in first-half foul trouble, scored 12 of his markers for the Eagles (3-9) during an 18-6 posting in the third period.
Austin Rhodes tallied 14 points and Danny Mosely 11 for the Eagles, who play Tuesday at Oak Hill.
The Red Devils, now 1-11 with a home game Tuesday versus Gilmer County, received 13 points, nine caroms, four steals and three assists from Ryan Slider. Trent Phillips added 12 points in the setback and finished a rebound shy of a double-double.
