I am dumbfounded that anyone would protest Sen. Manchin's call for stronger gun regulation. The Second Amendment calls for regulation in the first sentence of the amendment. Those people who think they are protecting the Second Amendment should first read the amendment. They should at least understand what they are protecting.
We have been in need of gun regulation reform for a long time. The gun show loophole needs to be closed. There is also no reason for any civilian to own an assault rifle. The only purpose of an assault weapon is to kill fellow humans.
Now gun regulation alone is not the answer in curbing unwarranted gun violence. Social and mental issues need to be discussed as well.
