VIENNA - United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, which raises funds for a network of health and human service agencies, publicly recognizes individuals who contribute $500 or more throughout its fall campaign.
This group of donors, called The Pacesetters Club, provides the foundation upon which the rest of the community can build by recognizing the vital importance of personal giving at an exceptional level.
Linda Bechtold McCormick, 2012-13 Pacesetter Club chairman, states, "Please join us as we strive to help those struggling to provide basic necessities for their families. Your generous support is a powerful testament to the value of neighbor helping neighbor and the spirit of giving that is a hallmark of our Mid-Ohio Valley community."
Although there are many local businesses (both large and small) yet to report, there are 104 Pacesetter members who together have donated $161,840 to the United Way Alliance.
"Your donation helps fund programs that build the very fabric of our community strong youth, strong families and self-sufficient individuals," states Joyce Mather, executive director of the United Way Alliance.
The alliance agencies serve Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wirt and Wood counties in West Virginia, as well as Washington and Athens counties in Ohio. "Over 200,000 people benefited from United Way's programs and services from July 2011 through June 2012," added Mather.
