PARKERSBURG - The warrant of the week is a Parkersburg man wanted for attempting to obtain a controlled substance, a felony, and two misdemeanor counts of second-offense shoplifting, according to the Parkersburg Police Department.
Criminal complaints filed in Wood County Magistrate Court allege Charles Andrew Wade, 29, 1303 36th St.., on Sept. 25 attempted to obtain a prescription of hydrocodone intended for another individual at the CVS Pharmacy on Murdoch Avenue, Sgt. Greg Collins, spokesman for the department, said. Wade presented himself to be the victim's son, Collins said.
On Dec. 3, Wade is charged with removing a HP laptop computer from Wal-Mart in Parkersburg without paying for it, Collins said. The computer was valued at $898, he said.

On Dec. 6, Wade also is charged with removing a Gateway laptop from Wal-Mart, also without paying for it, Collins said. The computer was valued at $598.
