PARKERSBURG -Even though Parkersburg High and Parkersburg South failed to make the state football playoffs, the Big Reds and Patriots both had several players worthy of statewide honors, as evidenced by the Class AAA all-state team being announced today by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
Both PHS and South have one representative on the first team and one on the second team.
The first teamers are quite familiar names. South senior Logan Cox, selected as a defensive back, is making his second appearance as a first-team player. Cox had five interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Offensively, he accounted for 50 points, scoring eight touchdowns and a two-point conversion.

Class AAA All-State First Team
A three-sport standout who also is a member of the Patriot basketball and track teams, Cox is expected to sign to continue his football career at the University of Akron.
Cox is a highly-decorated player who earlier this season was both an Ohio Valley Athletic Conference and Two Rivers Athletic Conference first team selection.
Representing Parkersburg High on the first team is senior Adam Lindamood, who was selected for the utility position on defense. With his selection, Lindamood joins his brothers -Joey (2004 and 2005) and Matt (2006 and 2007) -as first team all-state selections. The Lindamoods are one of 10 sets of brothers to represent Parkersburg High as all-state football players. Lindamood accounted for 96 points, scoring 16 touchdowns while rushing for 1,441 yards. He finished his three-year career at PHS with 2,704 rushing yards, placing him sixth on the all-time list, headed by brother Matt at 4,211. Defensively, he accounted for five quarterback sacks.
