PENNSBORO - Two inmates released from the North Central Regional Jail and accused of stealing a vehicle from the jail parking lot are behind bars, again.
Michael Lee Sharp and Amanda Marie Glendenning, both 21, allegedly acted together in the theft, according to the Ritchie County Sheriff's Department. The Doddridge and Ritchie County departments investigated.
Sharp was placed in jail on charges of fleeing with injury, reckless driving and failure to obey traffic control signals while Glendenning was charged with grand larceny of a vehicle. She was also lodged in the jail around 1 a.m. Thursday.
The two are being held on bond totaling $36,500.
Sharp and Glendenning were charged with stealing a vehicle from the jail parking lot and crashing it into a car driven by Ritchie County Deputy Sheriff Jim Asbury on Myles Avenue in Pennsboro. Asbury was driving a Dodge Durango belonging to the department and was involved in the crash along with the department police dog, Benji.
Asbury was treated and released from Camden Clark Medical Center and Benji is expected to make a full recovery, officials said.
